Qualifications
Members must have a background or experience in emergency medical services or trauma care.
The Governor makes the appointments based on recommendations submitted by the
following groups, each of which submits three names to Governor.
1. Ohio Osteopathic Association and the American College of Emergency Physicians, Ohio Chapter/EMS
Certified Physician
2. American College of Surgeons, Ohio Chapter/EMS Certified Surgeon
3. American Academy of Pediatricians, Ohio Chapter/EMS Certified Pediatrician
4. American Hospital Association / Administrator of a Hospital with active
emergency room
5. Ohio State Council of Emergency Nurses and Ohio Nurses Association / RN
6. Ohio Fire Chiefs Association / Fire Chief with primarily full-time EMS squad
7. Ohio Fire Chiefs Association / Fire Chief with volunteer full-time EMS squad
8. Ohio Emergency Medical technicians Instructors Association / EMT Instructor
9. Ohio Association of Professional Firefighters and Northern Ohio
Firefighters / EMT- Basic
10. Ohio Association of Professional Firefighters and Northern Ohio
Firefighters / EMT-I
11. Ohio Association of Professional Firefighters and Northern Ohio
Firefighters / EMT-Paramedic
12. Ohio State Firefighters Association / EMT-Basic
13. Ohio State Firefighters Association / EMT-I
