Certification Audits

Continuing education for all certifications, as well as instructional hours for instructors, is required for certificate holders to stay current with the latest developments, skills, and technologies required to provide and instruct fire and emergency medical services.

The certification audit process is conducted to ensure certificate holders are completing all continuing education and instructional requirements to maintain their certificates. Each month the process randomly selects renewed certificates from all levels of EMS, fire, and instructor certifications for audit. If you are selected for audit, you will receive notification via email and U.S. Mail. The correspondence will identify the certificate being audited and the time frame in which to respond.

It is extremely important that, if audited, you:

  1. Read the instructions on the audit form carefully, and
  2. Respond to the audit notice regardless of whether or not you have fulfilled the continuing education or instructional hours renewal requirements.

Failure to respond will result in disciplinary action up to and including revocation of your certification.
