Division of EMS Unveils Billboard Campaign Featuring Columbus Division of Fire Personnel
The Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Medical Services in partnership with the Columbus Division of Fire unveiled digital billboards and posters campaign today to commemorate Trauma Awareness Month and celebrate National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 18-24).

OSU Center for EMS offers free CEUs During EMS Week
In recognition of National EMSWeek, May 18-24, we would like to provide you an opportunity for free CEU credits. The topics for the two-hour seminar will be “Time is Muscle” and “Time is Brain”. Attendance is free, but attendees must register. Space is limited.

Public Hearing Notice
The EMS Board will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Room 134, 1970 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223. The purpose of the hearing will be to solicit public comment on Scope of Practice.

State EMS Board Holds Public Forum on National Accreditation of Paramedic Programs
The State Board of Emergency Medical Services will conduct a public hearing on June 18, 2008 regarding the national accreditation of paramedic programs.
FDA Issues Recall for Certain AEDs
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a Class I recall for MRL/Welch Allyn AED 20 Automatic External Defibrillators manufactured between October 2003 and January 2005 serial numbers 205787 through 207509.The recalled devices may display a “Defib Comm” error message on the device display during use that may result in a terminal failure of the device.
